The Next Big Thing

I worked with the Student Events and Activities team (SEA) at John Brown University to put on this battle of the bands production. I created posters and promotional items to promote this annual show typically ranging from 500-1000 in attendance.

The bands competed with all original music to win a recording package with a professional studio, an $800-$1200 value.

Event Logo

I first created an event logo used for promotional materials and to be projected on stage for the show. At JBU, The Next Big Thing is widely known and commonly abbreviated as “TNBT” in conversation.

Posters

Using photography taken of each band, I created event posters for the show, as well as individual posters for each band, hung around campus to promote the event.

Band Logos/Stickers

I created three of the four individual band logos. These were used to promote the bands and were made into stickers to be sold to students.

Cutouts

We took individual photos of each band member to make die-cuts that we could put up all over campus. Students and the bands really loved these; we stayed busy replacing them as students would take them down.
